Commissioned work

Caroline von Grone paints portraits on commission from private individuals or public institutions in the fields of culture, politics, and business. Individual portraits, family portraits, and scenic paintings sensitively and complexly capture the reality of the sitters and are simultaneously thematic paintings. A painting is only completed when the subjects fully recognize themselves.

The location, depiction, and scene are determined jointly with the commissioning party. The paintings are usually created from a model. This allows the portrayed individuals to be vividly alive, reflecting their actual presence and self-perception.

Unlike photographs, the models are present throughout the entire creation process and influence the image.
