Installation mit Modell 1
For the painting project in the Protestant church in Venice, a model was sought that recalled the Christ type from a Titian painting owned by the congregation. This model leaned against one of the pillars in the entrance hall, with a large pane of glass leaning against the second. In this studio situation, developed for the site, various paintings were created between May 17 and June 9 and September 17 and 19, 2013. They depict the model in reference to the pictorial tradition of Christ at the Column of Flagellation. The starting point for the painted observations were the reflections on the large pane of glass, onto which were additionally pasted photos of people who have experienced suffering today, were imprisoned, tortured, or socially excluded.
